Bedrooms

Good sized bedrooms, decent bedding and a tranquil location should equal a fine night's sleep, especially if preceded by a day in the great outdoors.

All the bedrooms come with good beds: not for us the cheapest pine selection from Bargain Beds R Us. The master bedroom is ensuite. All the beds come fully made up. A foldaway cot is available as well as an extra single mattress. Altogether the house can sleep up to 7 adults, 3 children, 1 baby, although more than 9 people may feel a bit crowded in the sitting and dining rooms.

Bedroom 1: Master Bedroom
You will want to be first in the front door to claim this simply charming bedroom. The bay window gives you a panoramic view, overlooking Ambleside to the fells beyond, with the shapely long wooded ridge of Loughrigg across the vale. Looking north, the eye wanders along the ridges of the Fairfield horseshoe. The bedroom has the original Victorian fireplace and, most importantly, a quality king-size brass bedstead. The en-suite bathroom is a delight with its high ceiling, big window and roll-top slipper bath. Lie in a steaming tub and gaze at the wooded slopes of Loughrigg rising above the church steeple. Heavenly.

Bedroom 2
A spacious double room on the first floor, with a lovely high ceiling and views over the vegetable patch and up the hill towards Wansfell. There is a sink in this bedroom. There is also a floor level single mattress bed (2"6' wide) available for this room. Please ask.

      

Bedrooms 3, 4 and 5
The bedrooms on the second floor are all the same size. There are plenty of younger childrens books and toys on the upstairs landing here, including a charming dolls house.

Bedroom 3: Double bed

Bedroom 4: Childrens room: Bunk beds (2 full size single beds).

Bedroom 5: Single bed + small child's bed (suitable for up to about age 5)

There is space in all the rooms for a cot or extra child size mattress but they fit best in the larger rooms - (bedrooms 1 and 2) and the single room (bedroom 5). We can provide a travel cot if requested.

Family Bathroom
This is a large bathroom on the first floor with corner bath, toilet, bidet, basin, separate large shower, and lots more space for a comfy chair or just to spread out.
