Outside
Glorious views and tranquil seclusion
Houses with a large flat garden are a real rarity in Ambleside, so we
encourage you to make the most of this one. West facing and secluded,
if the sun is shining this is a simply divine spot to settle into a
deck-chair and soak up the surroundings. If you have young children,
you will appreciate the garden toys: tractors, scooters, bats and balls
etc. they can go roly poly down the small slope onto the lawn or explore
our field.
Opposite the house is a handy footpath that heads directly (but steeply)
into the town centre. Two minutes and you're there amongst all the shops,
cafes, restaurants and hostelries. And yet just up the hill is Dalefield,
sitting in splendid detachment from all the bustle and cars of Ambleside.
We think this is the best of both worlds.

"Wansfell! This Household has a favoured lot, Living with liberty
on thee to gaze… " Wordsworth.
Rising steeply behind Dalefield, Wansfell's rocky summit can be seen
through the windows at the back of the house, and a footpath starting
right behind the house leads directly to the main path up this much
loved fell. This route take you alongside Stockghyll Woods where you
will find the Stockghyll falls, which can be quite dramatic after heavy
rain.
"Thanks
for a great place to stay and base ourselves from. We love Ambleside
and have really enjoyed the walks out of the town. Your garden is fantastic
... sit outside and enjoy the views." Purcell

Dine
alfresco
Armed with supplies of Cumberland sausage, venture onto the patio,
get your food sizzling on the BBQ, uncork a suitable bottle and
just enjoy. Should the weather oblige, this is a simply fantastic
BBQ spot with views to die for. |
